The time has come. I have only a few months left of my maternity leave and it has gone by far to fast. As much as I am looking forward to returning to work in a new role, I don’t want to go back. If I could be a stay at home mum, or a work from home mum, I totally would. I’m a big lover of a bucket list (you can see life one here) so, I have decided to compile a list of things I would like to achieve before returning to work. Making the most of the precious time I have left with Molly.
Go Swimming More:
My body confidence is not great and I’ve always let it get in the way of my love for swimming. I have taken Molly swimming a few times, but I’d love to go more. She is such a water baby and I don’t want to be the reason we don’t go. I also want to join in with the local gyms water aerobic classes. They look so much fun and would be less strenuous on my pelvis and back since having a tiny human basically broke me.
Get Out & About More:
I don’t mean down to the local pub. I mean to soft play, baby classes and mummy meet ups. My postnatal anxiety has hit an all time high recently and I have really struggled to get out. Recently I joined a app called MUSH where you can connect and meet with other mamas who live locally. I have arrange my first meet up. I won’t lie, I’m shitting it.
Take A Few Mama & Molly Day Trips:
I want to take Molly out when Liam’s on a long day. Maybe to the zoo, or theme park, Museum. Anything really. Just something other that soft play or the local park!
Get Scrapbooks Up To Date:
I have 2 Project Life books and copious amounts of craft items just sitting and waiting to be used. I need to get my backside in gear and actually order photos and start putting them together. Otherwise 2019 will be here and I’ll be a whole year behind. FML.
Do More Home Activities:
Seeing as I want to work in play, you’d think I’d do play activities all the time with Molly! Wrong. It’s bad really. We have done some painting, and printing footprint. But that was when she was 3 months old. I’m starting to create activities to do with her now that she is a bit older, and I plan to document them on here as we do them!
More Date Nights With Liam:
Don’t get me wrong, I love our little Bug to the moon and back but we need to make more of an effort to make time for us. We have had 1, maybe 2 dates in the 8 months since having Molly. Liam and I go away soon (baby free) which we are VERY excited about. I think we are going to try for a baby free date night every 2 weeks. We will see how long that lasts!
Have you made a Maternity Bucket list? Are there things you would add to it? I’d love to hear them!
