September was an amazing month. Autumn well and truly made an appearance and I have been in my happy place ever since.
Everything Autumnal
To me, as soon as September hits, it’s Autumn. I’ll be honest, I can never get enough! Its a time for Pumpkin spiced lattes ( yes I’m one of those people) Autumn scented candles and fairy lights, the changing and falling of the leaves and the general autumnal smell in the air. I have stocked up on fall scented candles this last month as well as pumpkin flavoured coffee from TK Maxx. I have transformed Molly’s wardrobe from summer to Autumn and it gave me great pleasure. I can’t wait to start dressing her in woolly hats and cute knitted jumpers!
Bullet Journal
Over September I have been toying with the idea of starting a bullet journal. I am inspired daily by people around me doing it and I always find myself browsing bullet journal layouts and ideas Pinterest. I am forever in awe of the beautiful, intricate designs that people do, which has always had me thinking i’m not artistic enough to even attempt doing it. However, I have a journal or order and I’m going to take a whack at it!
Planning Autumn/Winter adventures!
Autumn starts all the big family adventures! Pumpkin picking, trips to special Halloween events, Garden centers Christmas displays, trips into London and so much more! We have also started to plan out and actually book our accommodation for our road trip to Scottland at the end of November! We are heading up there to celebrate a friends wedding in Glasgow, but plan to drive across to Edinburgh to the Christmas markets. SO EXCITED!
Family Days Out.
September saw quite a few family days out. One of the best being a trip to Chessington world of adventures. I love it there. Liam and I have been going there ever since we were kids, and I worked there as a first aider for a season too back in 2010. There’s a sense of familiarity and nostalgia going back there. Molly absolutely loves it, and it’s great because there are some rides that she can go on! There is a zoo and a sea life center. Perfect family day. We love it so much that we are looking to get annual passes early next year. Chessington all the time!!
Hocus Pocus
I don’t care what anyone else thinks. Autumn means Halloween and Halloween means Hocus Pocus. End of. Molly watched Hocus Pocus for the first time and was glued – YES CHILD! This filled me with so much pride. Hocus Pocus has always been a family favourite film ( along with Halloweentown ). My mum, sisters and I have forever been obsessed with the Sanderson sisters and still to this day, quote the film on a regular basis. “SISTERS!” My younger sister Sophie had a little girl. We said that If Lynsey ( The youngest ) had a little girl, then we could dress them up as the Sanderson sisters one Halloween…
What is the Five Things linky?
The Five Things linky was created and set up by two beaut Mamas Rachael (Fromrachaelclaire) and Georgia (Georgiaandstanley). The linky is all about sharing five things you have been loving this month. It can be anything from a song, a TV show, a product or even a day out! With this linky there is only one rule.If you’re a parent, the five things have to all be NONE parenting related. I think this is a fab idea because as parents, we tend to sometime become lost in the crazy world of parenthood. To find out more about this linky, just hop on over to this post.
