It goes without saying that things have been far from normal the last few months. Told to stay inside our own homes, shut away from the outside world, away from our loved ones. For me, I miss my family in Somerset, my Mum, my Siblings. But they have access to the internet, and facetime. My Grandparents on the other hand – don’t. I miss my Grandparents dearly. I have an incredibly strong relationship with my Nan and Granddad. Not being able to see them, or introduce them to Evelyn, when they live a 15 min drive away has almost broken me.
Whilst phone calls are a great way to keep in touch it’s not quite the same as being able to share with them what we have been up to. When ever we’d visit them, I would show my Nan photos and clips of things we’d been up to. I haven’t been able to do that since March. March! When Neveo approached me about making a journal to send to someone special, I jumped at the chance and thought of my Grandparents straight away.
What is Neveo?
Neveo is a specially designed app which allows you to create a monthly photo journal that is then delivered directly to your recipient/s. It is super simple to use, and has a step by step guide to help if you get a little confused! You can upload up to 50 photographs per month directly from your phone, computer or tablet. Neveo also gives you the option to add a description to each photo, or you can leave it blank, have it sent to you, and for you to hand write what you have been up to, to make it that little bit more personal.
How does it work?
The journal automatically cuts off at the end of each month and your memories are then arranged by Neveo ( although, I find the print in the order you upload them ). They are then made into a beautiful magazine that gets sent straight to your chosen recipient. You can have it sent to your home address if you wanted to send it with other items. Or as I said above, to write in the captions we have.
Neveo was originally created with Grandparents in mind. However, these memory magazines can be sent to anyone, anywhere in the world. At no extra cost, they are ideal to keep in touch with loved ones who live abroad and may not be so down with the technology! Or even if they are, It’s always nice to have something sent to you in the post!
What we thought..
Neveo is super simple to operate. I take all my photos on our DSLR, but have the ability to transfer them to my iPhone via WIFI. Then, I edit them on my phone in Lightroom. I can then easily upload them straight to the Neveo app. The only thing that was slightly disappointing was the inability to move photos around. Also, not being able to view the journal before it got printed. However, as I said earlier, if you upload the photos in the order you want them to appear, they should be printed in that order. They also manage to do the front cover beautifully too, picking photos from the ones you’ve uploaded that month.
I initially thought £9.99 was a lot. But when I really thought about it, it costs around 25p to print out 1 photo. So, to get 50 photos printed out, with the ability to write captions, and have them put into a journal is pretty darn good! Plus, don’t forget the free worldwide postage! I really enjoy putting these together each month, and my Grandparents loved it. I just can’t wait until I get to see them again in person.
